Graf & Madlener Milwaukee

This stoneware bottle has a simple cobalt flower on the shoulder as a case marker. It dates from the 1880's and is embossed "GRAF & MADLENER MILWAUKEE WIS." It was also made without the flower. The decorated variety is quite rare and very few American clay bottles were decorated with anything other than a stripe or band.
