Henk & Co Milwaukee Quart

Salt glazed stoneware beer or soda from Milwaukee, Wisconsin with cobalt on the blob and a vertical stripe on the neck. This is a rare quart size bottle is incised "HENK8CO MILWAUKEE". The "8" character was substituted for the "&". Henk & Co. was affiliated with the Henk company that operated in Waukesha. This example has a repair to the blob. A truck driver found in a load of dirt from downtown Milwaukee. When I went to her house to see the bottle she was using it to boil water on the wood burning stove to humidify the house. These things are very durable.
